Laurel Foenander began painting in 1995.  Very quickly her colourful pastel paintings became very popular and have found their way into collections in England, Japan, America, Singapore, Germany and Holland as well as many parts or Australia.
Limited edition prints and greeting cards have travelled even further afield and are available direct from the artist and selected galleries.
Recently, she has been exploring the acrylic medium and is enjoying the change of texture and scale, still with an emphasis on strong colour.
Being a keen gardener and bird lover, her main subject matter is the natural world and particularly our beautiful birds. She believes that art can strongly enhance people"s appreciation of nature and thereby encourage conservation.
Laurel has exhibited successfully in many art shows and major exhibitons.Her prizes include:Drouin Ficifolia Festival Awards,Warragul Rotary Art Show,Leongatha Art Show, St Kevin"s College Art Shows
She lives and works at home in Longwarry in Gippsland with her husband and two daughters.
