These shoes were made for Carol, friend and a dancer who had wanted red shoes since she read the book as a young girl. I made casts of her feet, researched shoe making and took photos at her dance classes prior to producing this work.  This is a small part of a series of works related to Carol’s dancing feet. Carol has since danced in New York.
